Bren leads the social work department for the adult and child/adolescent units. She is a lifelong resident of Western Massachusetts and has worked in community mental health for over a decade. Bren has an excellent understanding of the challenges facing our communities and the local resources available to provide support to our patients and their families.. She fully believes that you cannot practice social work without advocating for social justice and is committed to cultural humility, diversity, and inclusion. Bren has completed additional education in providing affirming care to the LGBTQ+ community and has extensive experience in working with this population, as well as with adults who are impacted by persistent mental health diagnoses.
Bren has been with MiraVista since shortly after the hospital opened. Prior to starting with MiraVista, Bren worked at one of Baystate Health’s community clinics. She also worked as part of a DMH area Adult Community Service contract for many years.
