Welcome to MiraVista Behavioral Health Center. We are a purpose-led organization and believe that care and compassion, combined with expertise in treating people with psychiatric distress and addiction can bring peace, hope and recovery. We strive to create an inclusive, culturally responsive and caring treatment and workplace environment for our patients and for our team of caregivers. It is an exciting time of growth at MiraVista and we have a lot in store for our patients, the communities we serve and our extraordinary staff.

Our Story Is Inspiring
MiraVista Behavioral Health Center is a new healthcare provider created to bring much needed psychiatric and substance use recovery services to Western Massachusetts. Located in the historic former Providence Behavioral Hospital facility in Holyoke, we opened our doors in April 2021 to serve the Pioneer Valley community.
In 2020, TaraVista HealthPartners purchased Providence Behavioral Health after it was announced the facility was closing. MiraVista came to be out of a deep community need for behavioral health treatment and from the steadfast commitment of caregivers and advocates to ensure services continued to be available. MiraVista and its sister hospital, TaraVista in Devens, are part of TaraVista HealthPartners, a regional network of mental health and substance use disorder care providers.

Our future is bright! We are transforming the lives of our patients and we are making a meaningful impact in our communities. We plan to double our inpatient capacity over the next year and are undergoing extensive renovations to our patient care areas, building and grounds.
As we grow, we do so with gratitude for the many caregivers that came before us at the former Providence Hospital who cared for so many for so long. We keenly understand the dedication it takes to provide healing and hope to individuals and their families in need of care and compassion.
Care. Reimagined. These two words ground us and guide us as we help patients of all ages chart a pathway to the possible often a future that seemed unimaginable before entering treatment. These simple words inspire us in our work with each other to create the caring culture that is MiraVista. We hope they will inspire you.
