Back to School Resources for Parents

As the school bell rings in a fresh start, the transition back to the classroom can be both exciting and challenging for students, parents, and educators alike. To help ease the shift from summer relaxation to school routines, we’ve gathered some practical tips designed to support a smooth and positive return to learning. Whether it's establishing new routines, managing anxiety, or fostering open communication, these tips can help set the stage for a successful and fulfilling school year ahead.

Start a Routine Early:
Begin a school-like schedule a couple of weeks before school starts.

Talk About Worries:
Encourage the children in your life to share their feelings about the new school year.

Visit the School:
Walk around the school together to help your child feel more comfortable.

Prepare Together:
Organize school supplies together and create a study space at home.

Promote Positivity:
Focus on the exciting parts of school and remind them of their strengths.

Teach Relaxation:
Practice deep breathing or mindfulness exercises with your child.

Stay Connected:
Keep talking with your child as they adjust to the new school year. Encourage conversations.

Be Postiive:
Be aware of your own feelings and stay positive. Your encouragement and optimism can greatly influence their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

Starting a new school year can be exciting and filled with positive opportunities for growth and learning. However, if the children in your life need extra support, remember that MiraVista is here to help.
