MEET MIRA: Meet Kalianne Motson, Nursing Director
At MiraVista, our nurses bring more than clinical experience to their work. They bring compassion, dedication and a belief in the possibility of change. For Kalianne, behavioral health nursing has been a meaningful part of her career from the very beginning.
A nurse for 10 years, Kalianne has spent her entire nursing career caring for individuals with behavioral health needs. Her interest in the field began even earlier, when she earned her first bachelor’s degree in psychology.
“I am passionate about behavioral health and couldn’t imagine working with a different population,” she shares.
Before joining MiraVista, Kalianne worked in an emergency department behavioral health pod while also serving part time as a school nurse. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she saw the growing need for hospital care and made the decision to focus her work there, eventually moving to an inpatient unit.
That experience gave her the opportunity to witness something that continues to inspire her today: the progress patients can make throughout their treatment.
“Seeing the change in patients from when they first arrive to discharge, and how much better they get, is why I stay in behavioral health,” Kalianne says.
Now a Nursing Director at MiraVista, Kalianne brings experience in patient care, staff supervision and interdisciplinary teamwork to her role. She also holds a master’s degree in nursing leadership and management and is certified in psychiatric mental health nursing.
Kalianne came to MiraVista to be part of the work happening here and to continue caring for behavioral health patients in a meaningful way. Her commitment reflects what makes our team special: a shared belief that every person deserves compassionate care and the opportunity to feel better.
Thank you, Kalianne, for choosing behavioral health nursing—and for the care and dedication you bring to MiraVista and our patients every day.
