Building Spaces. Laying the Foundation for Care.

Behind the Walls, Ahead of Care: MiraVista Recognizes Facilities Team for Expanding Access

There are moments in healthcare that don’t happen in front of patients—but make all the difference when they arrive.

At MiraVista Behavioral Health Center, one of those moments recently took place as we recognized our Facilities team with the SHOUT-TEE Award for their extraordinary work behind the scenes — work that has directly supported the opening of 10 additional inpatient beds for adults across New England.

This expansion is more than a number. It represents increased access, reduced wait times, and the ability to meet the growing need for behavioral health services in our region. But before a single patient walks through the door of a new unit, there is a tremendous amount of work that happens quietly, often out of sight.

Painting. Constructing. Wiring. Problem-solving. Reworking. Reimagining.

These are the efforts that transform our units into an environment that feels safe, supportive, and ready for healing.

The work of our Facilities team lives behind walls and above ceilings, but its impact is immediate and unmistakable. The moment a patient arrives, they feel it in the calm of the space, in the functionality of the unit, in the sense that care has been thoughtfully built around them.

Because what our patients experience doesn’t happen by chance. It happens because of people who take pride in every detail, who understand that environment is a critical part of care, and who show up each day committed to making that experience better.

With the addition of these 10 new beds, that impact extends even further—creating more opportunity for individuals and families to access timely, compassionate care when it’s needed most.

We are proud to recognize and celebrate members of our Facilities team: Daniel Carrasco, Luis Melendez, and William Garcia—for the craftsmanship, dedication, and heart they bring to their work each and every day.

They don’t just build spaces. They build the foundation for care, for access, and for recovery.

This is what it means to be part of something bigger.

This is what it means to bring it.
